Angel Bat Dawid is an acclaimed Black American composer, clarinetist, pianist, vocalist, and educator based in Chicago. A defining figure in contemporary and avant-garde jazz, she rose to fame with her universally praised 2019 debut album, The Oracle, which was recorded entirely on her cell phone.
