Rashayla Marie Brown (aka Dr. RMB) is an undisciplinary™ artist-scholar who bends time-based media to transform narratives of power, access, and mastery. RMB has completed projects globally, including Embassy of Foreign Artists, Geneva; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Royal Academy of Arts, London; and Turbine Hall, Johannesburg. Her directorial debut screened at Metrograph NYC and Slamdance Film Festival, ultimately garnering a Special Jury Mention in an Oscar-Qualifying category at Athens. RMB studied Arabic and French through a US Dept. of Ed. fellowship in Morocco and holds degrees from Yale and SAIC as well as a PhD from Northwestern Performance Studies.
