Jacquelyn Ogorchukwu Iyamah
She/Her
Spatial Theorist, Writer, and Designer
Jacquelyn Ogorchukwu Iyamah is the founder of Making the Body a Home, a design practice where she developed “Interior Race Theory” to help people understand how the elements that shape our home spaces—architecture, furniture, layout, decor, forms, objects, materials, and more—can either affirm or erode the racial identity of Black and racially marginalized people. Her work bridges theory and practice to curate home spaces that foster a sense of protection, resistance, and liberation in the face of white domination culture. Her work has been recognized by Harvard Graduate School of Design, Architectural Digest, the Journal of Interior Design and more.
