Jason King
Dean, USC Thornton School of Music
Jason King is Dean of the USC Thornton School of Music, where he has led the school for the past three years. Before joining USC, he spent 21 years at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music as a founding faculty member, chair, and senior academic leader. A scholar, journalist, author, musician, performer, producer, songwriter, radio and video host, and curator, King’s work has appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and NPR Music. He co-curated the The Hip-Hop Mixtape at the Grammy Museum and served as a consulting producer on Piece by Piece, the acclaimed animated biographical film about Pharrell Williams.
