Joy Simmons
Art Collector and Philanthropist
Joy Simmons, MD, is an art collector and philanthropist who supports artists of African descent and those inspired by Black culture. Dedicated to a healthy arts ecosystem, she mentors new collectors and has been vital to the growth of several Los Angeles cultural institutions. Recently retired from Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Simmons is a former Stanford University Trustee and currently serves as a Commissioner of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and on the Board of Directors of the California African American Museum.
