Rikki Byrd, PhD

Assistant Professor of Visual Culture Studies, University of Texas

Dr. Rikki Byrd is a writer, curator, and educator. She holds a PhD and Master of Arts in Black Studies from Northwestern University, a Master of Arts in Fashion Studies from Parsons School of Design, and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on Black aesthetic practices including fashion, performance, and contemporary art. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Visual Culture Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
