William Pruitt III

Associate Vice President, NYU Global Programs

As the Associate Vice President of New York University Global Programs, William works closely with university leadership, schools, departments, and key faculty in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Shanghai to offer high-quality academic and student service programs at the study away sites. A key focus of William’s role is to ensure the effective delivery of excellence in our academic programs, experiential learning opportunities, and the student experience, consistent with NYU’s academic mission. William is responsible for the development of our efforts around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the study away sites. Prior to joining NYU, he held administrative positions with study abroad operations at Shanghai Finance University, Virginia Tech , and the University of South Carolina. During his tenure in the field of international education , he has served on NAFSA’s Education Abroad Knowledge Community for Diversity and Inclusion. He holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Virginia Tech , and completed his doctoral research on “Predicting Study Abroad Propensity Among College Students.”
