Yelaine Rodriguez (b. 1990) is an Afro-Dominican interdisciplinary artist and scholar focused on sculpture, photography, video installation, and performance. Her work explores Afro-syncretism and ancestral memory, connecting the Caribbean and the U.S. She earned a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons in 2013 and an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from NYU in 2021. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Performance Studies at Northwestern University. Her work has been featured in CNN, Artsy, Hyperallergic, Vogue, Aperture, Elle, and others, while her writings appear in ARTnews and the journal Latin American & Latinx Visual Culture, as well as in A Handbook of Latinx Art.
