Asha Salim

Asha Salim is a writer and scholar interested in African and African American Literature focusing on the intersection of social norms, literature and cultural traditions. Currently she is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship, and a Zegna Founder’s Scholarship pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on Cultural Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Her research and writing practices primarily concentrate on the African presence across the diaspora, and African American literature – more specifically on the experience of Afro-descendants Women in Southern Italy unravelling a literary and social parallelism with Black and Southern Womanhood in the Deep South of the United States.
