Darnell-Jamal Lisby is a fashion historian and project curatorial assistant for Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, currently helping to organize the museum’s 2020 exhibition, Willi Smith: Street Couture. He has contributed to various curatorial efforts at the Museum at FIT and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Published on platforms such as FIT’s Fashion History Timeline, Fashion and Race Database, and Teen Vogue, his passion pertains to exploring the art historical context surrounding the juxtaposition between Blackness ant the history of fashion.
