Kut The Rug Institute (KTRi) is a creative think tank dedicated to highlighting Street & Club Dance Culture by expanding the ways people talk, write about, and document it. Kut the Rug Institute aggregates, coordinates, and collects oral, written and kinesthetic knowledge around Street Dance culture, history and communities and disseminate it through visual art, public programming, educational workshops and research based cultural work. KTRi’s projects are produced and developed by three visual artists/ street dancers, Lafotographeuse (née Amanda Adams-Louis), Brian” B-polite” Polite, and James “Cricket” Colter.
