Michael Dinwiddie is an award-winning playwright, composer and scholar of African American Theatre. An associate professor at the Gallatin School, his courses include: Poets in Protest: Footsteps to Hip Hop; James Reese Europe & American Music; Sissle, Blake & the Minstrel Tradition; Dramatizing History; and Migration and American Culture. Michael has served on the governance task force of the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) and as a Tony Nominator. He was an inaugural fellow in the Walt Disney Writers Program at Touchstone Pictures. He is currently editing ON HOLY GROUND: An Anthology of Plays, Scenes and Monologues from the National Black Theatre Festival (1989-2019).
