  • Quess Green

Quess Green was trained in ballet and modern dance as a student in Concord Academy with Richard Colton, an award-winning dancer in the Boston Conservatory. As a rap artist, Quess has performed for the Aux’s Black Creative Fund Launch Party at Starr Bar. As a dancer, they have mostly performed with their team, NBC, at various competitions and school showcases. Many of those are available for viewing on their Youtube page, NBC Hip Hop Williams College. Themes that their preferred styles of dancing and music showcase are queer pride, gender fluidity, and camp. Vogue fem in particular, as both sound and art is a dance form that calls for hyper feminine expression via a fluidity of shapes and poses. Quess’s undergrad thesis at Williams was an essay on the evolution of vogue as a soundscape that archives the history of black queer resistance and self-making in NYC.
