Will Pruitt is a PhD Candidate in the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. His primary field is English, and his secondary field is Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. His dissertation narrates, explicates, and assesses Jim Crow-era debates about the meaning of a Black U.S. President. He seeks to publish an academic manuscript that explains how Black U.S. Presidents have facilitated and undermined the transition from mid-twentieth century racial liberalism to twenty-first century neoliberal multiculturalism.
