  • Xiomara Bovell

Xiomara Bovell is a dancer and creative strategist from Reading, England, now based in Brooklyn, New York. Xiomara’s dance practice primarily consists of contemporary, jazz and ballet and she is grateful to have had the opportunity to perform and work directly with choreographers and companies such as James Cousins, Cameron McMillan, English National Ballet Youth Co., Pascal Merighi (of Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal), and Pam Tanowitz. Xiomara received her formal dance training at the Centre for Advanced at London Contemporary Dance and Tring Park Ballet Academy before relocating to New York to attend Columbia University where she received her Bachelor of Arts at the Institute of Comparative Literature and Society with a focus on revolutionary and subversive film, and Black diasporic film movements in Europe. Outside of dance, Xiomara works as a creative strategist leading a number of projects that bridge brands and culture including Buy Black Friday and #NoAwardForThat for Facebook app, We The Culture Black Creator Program at Meta, and most recently, Atlantic Ventures – the Atlanic’s division dedicated to crafting the magazine’s most ambitious culture-led projects and partnerships.
