Zeus Sumra was born and raised in Saint Lucia and migrated to the U.S. at the age of 17. He holds a BA in psychology from Brooklyn College and an MFA in creative writing from Rutgers University–Newark. He currently teaches composition and creative writing and serves as Director of The Lit Lantern Reading Series, a program that features Black writers. His work has appeared in the Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology and has been supported by the New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore College and the Writers in Paradise Conference at Eckerd College.
